It Might Even Be 'Suicidal' To Revert To Old Public Universities Names - Kweku Baako Forewarns Mahama

Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, the Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, has questioned former President John Mahama's intention to change the names of some public universities in the country.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate plans to revert to the old names of some public universities that were renamed by President Nana Akufo-Addo if he wins the election later this year.

During his address to party supporters, chiefs, and students in Zuarungu in the Upper East Region, the NDC flagbearer criticized the NPP government's decision to rename universities established by the NDC government after their own political figures.

Kweku Baako, in reaction, believes such a move will be detrimental to the former president.

"In fact, it might even be suicidal for the one advocating for it. Maybe there isn't quality advice going into some of these campaign promises. We might as well clap for those who are not giving quality advice because it can impact on election outcomes. This is not an issue you put on the front burner because it could easily backfire," he said on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'
