Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker has warned the opposition National Democratic Congress against their unending accusations at the Electoral Commission.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demanded a forensic audit of the voter’s register, stating it is fraught with irregularities.
“The Electoral Commission of Ghana refused to release the voters’ register to the NDC on time ahead of the exhibition exercise”, Director of Elections and IT of the party, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah said.
He further stated; “It’s obvious the register has deliberately been tampered with!”
But Mireku Duker finds it unfortunate that the NDC would raise such allegations at a time when the EC says the current register is a provisional one.
“They are preparing the grounds that if they lose, therefore then they have some basis to stand on that the election was rigged. That is what they are doing. It’s a planned thing. It’s a whole meeting they’ve had”, he said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.
He strictly warned the opposition party against their misconduct, stating “it’s very unfortunate and we must watch them carefully because we have nowhere to go”.
